California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced today that the state has effectively wiped out poverty in the African country of Nigeria.
“Here in California, $31 billion doesn’t seem like much, but in Nigerian currency it’s enough to lift 40 percent of the total population above the poverty line,” Newsom said.
“Labor and Workforce Development Agency Secretary Julie Su did such a big hairy audacious job delivering the billions needed to end poverty in Nigeria that President Biden is expected to name her Deputy Secretary of Labor,” the governor added.
Russia is reportedly suing both California and Nigeria on behalf of the 940,000 California workers who haven’t had their unemployment claims processed.
