House Democrats under Nancy Pelosi have pledged to protect America from Chinese interference in 2021 in exactly the same way they protected our democracy from Russian collusion in 2017.
The announcement comes as Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe briefed “hundreds of members of Congress” to raise their concerns about China “and its increased efforts to impact the U.S. policy climate in its favor.”
“China is concerned that President Trump’s reelection would lead to a continuation of policies that they perceive to be ‘anti-China,'” Ratcliffe explained.
“When our Democracy is under attack, Democrats act,” Speaker Pelosi said on Monday. “The American people saw the appearance of Chinese collusion when Joe and his son Hunter went to China in 2013, and the House Democratic Caucus will immediately begin impeachment proceedings when Joe wins the presidency.”
Sen. Kamala Harris, Biden’s pick for his VP running mate in 2020, said, “I think we’re all clear that the Chinese Communist Party is not only attacking one of our most sacred democratic values, which is a free and fair election, but also, I believe, our very American identity.”
Harris also called for “immediate action from the nation’s law enforcement and intelligence agencies after Biden steals the election with foreign assistance.”
