Socialist Fragility took center stage last week in Portland, Oregon.
People who simultaneously demanded the abolition of the police and the Socialist takeover of America freaked out over the abduction of innocent protesters by secret police driving unmarked vehicles.
Dude. You wear clothing made by disappeared Muslim Uyghurs in Communist concentration camps. You’re addicted to TikTok, a surveillance app controlled by Communist China. And you retweet the pro-Chinese propaganda of NBA stars who profit from Communist slave labor.
We asked Portland’s leading Marxist about the cognitive dissonance of the protesters.
“If you’re freaking out over a few late-night arbitrary abductions, you’re just not ready to be a real Marxist,” said James M, who operates the Portland Marxist Reading Meetup. “How else do you think Communist states achieve the peaceful, harmonious coexistence of diverse ethnic groups?”
“This is 2020, not 1976. We treat every ethnic group as equal,” M said. “Yeah, sure, the Great Leap Forward killed 45 million people, but Communism was preserved by killing less than half that number in the Cultural Revolution, so abducting and imprisoning 1 million people in 2020 and forcing them to prove their loyalty to the Party is a small price to pay for the planned economic system based on human need.”
M also noted that America needs China, and the Communist Party is the fundamental feature of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
“Under the leadership of the Communist Party, the Chinese people won independence, freedom and liberation,” M said. “The path of socialism with Chinese characteristics has not only helped the Chinese people get rid of poverty, it has also made a huge contribution to the advancement of mankind.”
“I mean, come on,” M continued. “Haven’t you ever wondered why America is a society based on mindless, excessive, wasteful consumption instead of a society based on the sustainability of Marxism? To rebel is justified.”
