Prof. Neil Ferguson, the U.K. scientist nicknamed “Professor Lockdown” who broke his own social distancing rules for a tryst with his mistress from an open marriage, has quit his government job to become the host of a new CNN show called “The Scold.”
Ferguson allegedly told his mistress that “it’s about bloody time I had a job where I can threaten to throw people down the stairs if they don’t behave like decent human beings.”
The former epidemiologist also reportedly said that “working at CNN means I won’t have to apologize when I predict 500,000 deaths and only 30,000 people actually die.”
This is the second time a scientific adviser in the U.K. has quit after failing to follow their own advice.
Catherine Calderwood resigned as Scotland’s chief medical officer last month for traveling from Edinburgh to her second home, but CNN refused to hire her because her hypocrisy didn’t rise to the network’s high standards.
