Longtime Democratic strategist James Carville, “scared to death” that his party could nominate Bernie Sanders, proposed on Tuesday that DNC chair Tom Perez “drag a $100 bill through a trailer park to find a better candidate.”
Carville made the suggestion after saying Democrats could become an “ideological cult” and lose worse than the British Labour Party by “talking about people voting from jail cells and not having a border.”
“It matters who the candidate is, it matters what a party chooses to talk about!” Carville ranted. “I’m 75 years old. Why am I here doing this? Because I am scared to death, that’s why!”
Carville also said he will vote for Sanders if he’s the nominee.
“I’ll get behind him just like every other Democrat,” he said. “We might have no choice but to vote for a Socialist cult leader because what we need is power! Do you understand? That’s what this is about.”
