Democrats running for president in 2020 are demanding yet another ban on plastic products because of Climate Change. Republicans say the ban will embolden Russian operatives seeking to destabilize America in the upcoming election.
This time, the product isn’t a long plastic cylinder formerly used to slurp your favorite cold carbonated beverage on a hot summer day.
This time Democrats are targeting plastic Voter ID cards.
“It’s bad enough that Macedonian content farmers smuggled illicit Voter ID cards into America in 2016,” said Sen. Elizabeth Warren. “But the climate crisis has worsened since then, and we have to act now and ban Voter ID. For the children.”
Bernie Sanders punched back twice as hard, calling to extend the ban to plastic credit and debit cards.
“Voter ID is dangerous for planet Earth,” Sanders said, “but it is also irresponsible for Americans to let other people use plastic cards to buy whatever they want whenever they want. We need to do something.”
President Trump called the ban “un-American” and said Bernie should “go back to Russia where you had your honeymoon.”
