Mayor Darrell Steinberg was caught on camera entertaining an unidentified Mexican drug cartel leader (second from right) at a 4th of July parade in East Sacramento.
A source high on the Steinberg administration said the cartel leader was in Sacramento to provide important intelligence about migrant border-crossing tactics in the El Centro and San Diego sectors.
“Some American politicians have decided to defeat the Migration Protection Protocols from the Mexican side of the border,” the source said. “Mayor Steinberg believes that inviting human-trafficking drug lords to discuss strategy in Sanctuary Cities is vital to ensuring the safety of both Americans and foreign migrants.”

The Sacramento Brie called the mayor’s office to determine the cartel leader’s identity, but that information is classified.
“Always an honor to march in the annual #EastSacramento 4th of July Parade – especially when joined by a special guest from across the border!” tweeted the mayor.
