Former Obama Administration intelligence leaders blasted President Trump on Friday night for directing his Attorney General to declassify documents related to the biggest election scandal in American history, calling it “outrageous.”
“A sitting president just can’t unmask foreign intelligence assets hired by the Democrat Party to stage an honest coup,” said former CIA Director John Brennan. “This is a very, very serious and outrageous move on the part of Mr. Trump.”
Brennan also spoke directly to the nation’s young people on Twitter. “Barack and I hope you’ll always try to do the right thing, like spying on a few of your fellow Americans because the CIA told you they’re actually foreign intelligence assets.”
Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told CNN’s Anderson Cooper that the “bigger issue” is “what exactly is the scope” of the declassification.
“Does it involve all of Russia’s interference in the election, or just the parts President Obama directed from the White House?” Clapper asked rhetorically.
