The 19th District Court of Michigan has approved the redistricting of the state’s 13th Congressional District to include the future State of Palestine. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) praised the decision, saying the world would finally “stop dehumanizing our Palestinian people.”
The District Court judge who issued the decision said Palestine had to be included in the district because Rep. Tlaib lives there, but some reports indicate that Tlaib used a fake address. It is unclear if Tlaib ever lived in Palestine proper.
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) issued a statement demanding that Somalia be included in Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District. She also said she supports the expansion of Tlaib’s district to include the territories “from the river to the sea.”
A report by the Babylon Bee shows the seriousness of Omar’s demand.
“Omar pointed out how many in Israel continue in the extremely hostile act of being Jewish, provoking all of the people around them,” reported the Bee. “‘They want people to feel sorry for them,’ Omar said, ‘but they’re just out there, every day, being Jews. It’s almost like they’re taunting everyone.'”
Correction: The original version of this story said Rep. Rashida Tlaib used a fake address from the Occupied Territories on her election affidavit. We have been informed that she lived in Israel. We regret the error.
