Roseanne Barr, who was fired from her #1 show on ABC hours after posting racially offensive tweets at former Obama White House adviser Valerie Jarrett, has announced a new career after attending three hours of racial bias training at Starbucks.
“A lot can happen in two hours,” said the comedian who had been a failed racist disgrace earlier in the day. “For me, that’s owning a Starbucks.”
“Starbucks and I are doing everything we can to prove that we take racial equality very seriously,” she told Al Jazeera reporter Gabriel Elizondo. “But anti-bias trainings can’t cover the full complexity when it comes to addressing white supremacy, which is why my coffee shop will be open 24 hours a day.”
ABC’s head of entertainment Channing Dungey, who fired Roseanne, welcomed the move. “I used to buy Starbucks (Nasdaq: SBUX) once a day,” said Dungey, “but since the incident in Philadelphia I stop there twice a day. That’s how important racial equality is to me.”
