Saul Alinsky, the Leftist community organizer who published his infamous Rules for Radicals in 1971, has come back from the dead to punish California with Rule 4.
“I’m going to make the High Speed Rail Authority live up to the California Environmental Quality Act,” Alinsky said from the Cedar Viaduct construction zone in Fresno. “And if you think there’s a legal shitstorm now, just wait until the environmental impact reports are released for L.A. and Silicon Valley.”
Alinsky was referring to lasts week’s 6-1 California Supreme Court ruling, which decided that federal rail law does not trump California’s tough environmental regulation for state-owned rail projects.
“Lord knows I’m not against the bullet train,” Alinsky said, winking. “But we all have to choose sides, and I chose Californians for Alternatives to Toxics over the North Coast Railroad Authority.”
Gov. Jerry Brown said anyone who’s against high speed rail is a Satan worshiper. “Hey, I love Saul,” he said, “but you know he dedicated his book to the Lord of Flies, right? Jehovah doesn’t raise people from the dead just to get his pound of flesh off a $64 billion climate change project. Only Satan does that.”
“Jerry is out of his gourd,” said failed 2016 presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton. “I know Saul, and if he says the environment is more important than the bullet train then I believe him.”
