Construction was halted at California’s crippled Oroville Dam on Friday when engineers for the Department of Water Resources stumbled upon a highly unusual document at Sacramento’s DWR headquarters.
The undated diagram of the underground power plant appears to show the existence of a “secret sex lair” and a passageway leading from the upper visitors overlook.
Due to extensive damage to the dam during spring storms, no apparent tunnel could be found at the overlook. Workers are attempting to confirm the location of the lair with ground penetrating radar, said DWR Acting Director Bill Croyle.
On March 27, Croyle told reporters, “If I have anything to say about it, we’ll have a spillway to use by Nov. 1. Whether that’s a permanent or temporary structure is still to be determined.”
The discovery of the lair could put that deadline in jeopardy.
Repeated phone calls by The Brie to Gavin Newsom and Bill Clinton went unanswered.
